St. James is acquiring 14 new chairs for the new meeting room (the Old Chapel space). Please consider sponsoring a chair, in honor or in memory of a loved one. The cost is $37.07 per chair, and checks should be made to “St. James” with the designation “chair” in the memo portion of the check. Five chairs have already been purchased, how quickly can we get the other 9 sponsored?? LENTEN PROJECT Our Lenten Project this year is to further help St. Brigid’s Pantry with monetary donations. There are special envelopes in each pew designated “St. Brigid’s” should you decide to participate in this most important project. VESTRY MEETING: A reminder to all Vestry members, the next meeting is March 22. DAUGHTERS OF THE KING: Attn: All of Women of Faith! Give Up Doubt! Be Confident in God’s Love. During the Lenten Season, a book discussion, bible study and prayer will be offered on the following Mondays - Mondays March 2nd, 16th & 30th at 7:00 pm in the Chapel. The book to be discussed is “A Confident Heart” by Renee Swope with biblical references and discussion. Reference materials will be provided. CHILDREN’S PROGRAM FOR LENT: Our 6-week Lenten program for Children will on Fridays, Feb 20 thru March 27, from 5:30 til 8:00 pm. We will start with a light supper at 5:45, with a lesson beginning at 6:00. Please see Robin McKeever for more information. SUBVERSIVE STORIES: Beginning Sunday, Feb 22, at 9:15 am, Paul Meglathery will be resuming his study of the subversive stories in scripture, this time focusing on the Parables of Jesus: Good Samaritan, Prodigal Son, Wheat and the Weeds and Great Banquet. Meet downstairs, coffee will be available. PAINTINGS OF ST. JAMES: Our own Jerry Keelen has created beautiful paintings of the St. James building, and they are available for purchase at the suggested price of $35. Please consider purchasing one for your home! ST. JAMES FAIR – SEPTEMBER 18 & 19 We are gearing up for the St. James Fair, taking place on September 18 & 19! Spring is coming, why not take some time during your spring cleaning to go through your house and find treasures for the Fair. If you haven't touched it since the last Fair, it should be donated! We have a boat and some estate items pledged already. All items will receive a tax receipt. Buying a new car? Your old one may be more valuable as a donation; consult your tax professional. Stuff makes the sale, people make it fun. Let your friends and family know about the sale; it is a great opportunity to introduce new people to "The Little Stone Church with the Warm Heart." |
