Centering Prayer - Thursdays at 7:00 pm
It is surprising to many that Christianity has a long tradition of meditative prayer, all the way back to Jesus himself who, ”…often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” (Lk. 5:16). Jesus referred to this form of prayer as ‘prayer in secret’, as he encouraged his disciples, “When you pray, go into your inner room, close the door, and pray to your Father who is in secret…” (Matt. 6:6)
It’s that simple. Go inside your own soul, close out distractions and spend quality time with God in silence. In our time this way of Christian meditation is known as Centering Prayer.
If you’re interested in exploring this prayer practice, participation is always free and everyone is welcome. Come as you are. Call 732-542-0818 for more information.
