Bible Study and Centering Prayer are on hiatus until September. Womens Group meeting: First Tuesday of each month. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: Our annual Vacation Bible School program for kids will be held this year on Tuesdays, July 7, 14, 21 and 28. The sessions go from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm. This year's theme is Bullying and the Bible. We are looking for volunteers to provide a light supper and dessert each week. Please see Robin McKeever for more information. PICNIC: Save the date!! The annual St. James Parish Picnic is on Sunday, July 26th, at the home of Dorothy Morgan. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Stay tuned, more details will come soon. THE DAUGHTERS OF THE KING: BOOK DISCUSSION: We will be discussing the book “Before Amen” by Max Lucado, on Monday nights, July 6, 13, and 20 at 7:30. We will be meeting outside, please bring lawn chairs, bug spray, etc. PROJECT BACKPACK: St. James is once again participating in Project Backpack, which will benefit needy children of all ages in the area. The backpacks and supplies will be collected on Sunday, July 19. Please pick up a copy of the list of specific items that are needed, located in the back of the Sanctuary. ST. BRIGID’S FOOD PANTRY: Please continue to donate to the St. Brigid’s food pantry. At this time of year, children are out of school, and many families are in need of an extra meal to feed those children. Donations of cereal and other food items are greatly appreciated. ST. JAMES FAIR – SEPTEMBER 18 & 19 The boat and trailer donated by Carol and Jerry was sold on Ebay, for over $1200, giving us a wonderful start to our St. James Fair! We could use some moveable shelving for this and future Fairs if you have some to donate. Moving boxes, copier paper boxes with lids,and brown paper grocery bags are needed too. We have a BEAUTIFUL full-length white fox coat by Adolfo, ladies size 18 in the sale. Look fabulous at a fraction of retail! More news as it happens! --Kevin. |
