CHOIR FOR OCT 26
We are looking to have a choir sing with the congregation at the 10:15 service on Oct 26. We need at least 5 people to participate in order to make this work, and the more we have, the better! If you are interested in singing, please talk to Gretchen after the service for details.

SERVICE & POT LUCK LUNCH
We will behaving a Pot Luck Lunch after the 10:15 service on Sunday, Oct 26. There will be a representative from the Diocese in attendance to discuss issues between the Diocese and St. James. There will be a sign up sheet for the Pot Luck in the narthex. Please plan to attend this important service, and stay for the good food afterward!

ALL SOULS DAY
Our annual celebration of All Souls Day will be Sunday, Nov 2. If you would like to remember someone special that day, there are All Souls Day envelopes in each pew. Donations for the church’s general fund are gratefully accepted.

CLOISTERS MUSEUM & GARDENS TRIP
Please join us for a day out on Saturday, Dec. 13 for a trip to the Cloisters Museum and Gardens in Ft. Tryon Park, Manhattan. The Waverly Consort will be performing The Christmas Story, at both 1:00 and 3:00. Please see the flyer in the Narthex for more information.

WEEKLY EVENTS
Bible Study meets each Tuesday evening at 7 pm, except for the first Tuesday of the month.

The Centering Prayer group meets each Thursday evening at 7:30 pm.

ST. BRIGID’S FOOD PANTRY
Donations of the following items are always being accepted: cereals (hot, cold, pancake mix, etc.), canned fruits and vegetables, jelly, toiletries, toilet tissue, paper towels, diapers, and baby formula.  Please remember to bring in personal hygiene items for St. Brigid’s clients as well (shampoo, soap, etc.). St. Brigid’s is sorely in need of volunteers to help with various tasks, including the unloading of items from the Food Bank on the 2nd Friday of each month. Please see Jim Hicks or Dave Harrison for more information.

FUNDRAISING
Our major fundraiser, The St. James Fair, is only a year away. Ideas for other events to raise funds, promote fellowship, and attract new friends are being solicited.

Our annual Stewardship Campaign runs from October 12 until November 9th, where fundraising is our only focus.

In regard to the St. James Fair, it is a good time to start considering things that will result in the best outcome for our church. As all donations are tax deductible, you, your family and friends, might want to think of higher value goods that may be better for the donor as a tax write off, and better for St. James as a source of income. Trading a car? Grandmother's things that are nice but you never use?

Talent and storage are other essentials required to make the Fair a success. Please let us know. Fund raising, besides what the term implies,is a great chance for fellowship, and to introduce new people to the "Little Stone Church with the Warm Heart." Please direct all ideas and questions to fundstjames@gmail.com.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
As always, if you have any announcements that you would like to see in these emails, please contact the church office atstjamesetwn@verizon.net before Wednesday morning, and you will have your announcment included.
